No more picures Mom!
I've been told that the number of pictures of Gage on this blog are unacceptable. I will do better. Gage will be hiding from the camera if I take any more pictures.
Wuined My Wife
This morning I have lived long enough to become a nuisance to my child.
Alex went out to play right after break
fast. He swam, he played in the sandbox, he had a great time.
Finally, he decided it was time to go inside...he wanted a bath. I made the mistake of believing he wanted to get CLEAN while he was there. After he'd played in the bathtub for about 15 minutes, I said, "Alex, let's wash your back and your hair."
He replies with "Mom! You've wuined my wife!"
Translation: "Mom! You've ruined my life!"
Where does he even learn phrases like that? I know what you're thinking, and I promise, I have not been making him watch Days of Our Lives with me. Quite frankly, after 25 years of watching that show, I think I'll be ill if Bo and Hope marry each other a 7th time. And I really can't handle any more of the Days of Our Lives melodrama.
Apparently, there is quite enough melodrama spewing from my precious 3-year-old's little mouth these days.

Crackin' Up
My kids have absolutely the best laughs. It doesn't matter that some people's kids might possibly be smarter (maybe) or cuter (doubtful). I can always, always hold onto the FACT that my kids have the best laughs of any kids in the world.
Last week in our Young Married's Bible Class Gage became a complete distraction by deciding that David was the funniest thing he'd ever seen. Now, I wish I had that on video.
Since we didn't happen to catch that on tape, you'll have to settle for this video. My Dad was reading Alex "Calvin and Hobbes" cartoons (editted for age-appropriateness). Alex was absolutely cracking up. He has good taste in cartoons. I stand by my motto that cartoonists are the most talented people on the face of the earth. And again, my kids have the best laughs.

Brothers
Gage
Alex
People keep asking me if Gage looks like Alex did at this age. I always say they look exactly alike, but now that I compare photos, it's clear how different they look!
Who does Gage look like in this picture?
Maybe his cousin Caleb.

Cwapping
Also, we've been potty training so much that all we think about at this house is peepee and poopoo.
Alex was in the back seat of the car the other day when he said, "Mom! Dad! I'm cwapping everywhere! I'm cwapping everywhere! I'm cwapping in the car. I'm cwapping right now!"
First of all, we thought we'd had a potty training breakthrough that he was acknowledging the existence of poopoo. Then, I wondered for the first time whether we would be one of those families who pull over to the side of the road when their kids can't wait to go to the bathroom, or if we'd always make our kids hold it. Finally, it occurred to me that Alex doesn't actually know the word "CWAP" because that is a four letter word at our house, especially for a 3-year-old. I gave him a very puzzled look, I'm sure.
He went on to say, "I like to cwap. Watch me cwap. I am cwapping my hands fast. Now I am cwapping my hands even faster!"
Oh, did I mention he also can't say his "L" sound yet?

Baby Bath
I love this picture of Gage. He absolutely loves to take a bath. Alex did too. Hey, come to think of it, I loved doing it too. I think I may have missed my calling to become a professional baby bather. I mean, they pay people to bathe dogs, why not babies?
Now you all know I like my job, but what if I could do anything in the world?
Other dream jobs:
Co-hosting with Ashton Kutcher on Punkd, playing pranks on people, not just for laughs, but for fame and fortune
Previewing movies
Taste-testing at the Dr. Pepper plant...actually I could be a taste tester for all kinds of things
massage therapist tester
Now, for these jobs, I wouldn't mind mandatory overtime.
